A lively social program at NHM

We look forward to welcoming all NHM attendees at the opening ceremony in Háskólabíó on Wednesday at 16:00.

The opening ceremony includes addresses from Silja Bára Ómarsdóttir, the rector of the University of Iceland, and Ólöf Garðarsdóttir, the dean of the School of Humanities at the University of Iceland as well as the keynote by Professor Mary Hilson from Aarhus University.

Nordic history book award

The purpose of the Nordic History Book Award is to stimulate historical interest in the Nordic region. It will be given to the author of the most innovative and thoughtful recent work in Nordic history. The Award winner will be announced at the Congress of Nordic Historians, held every third or fourth year, next time in Reykjavik (Iceland) in August 2025.

Registration for the NHM Conference is progressing well, with approximately 500 participants currently registered. Please note that the registration fee will increase on June 5th, so we encourage all attendees to complete their registration before that date. Furthermore, registration for the conference dinner will open soon and will be announced separately.

The program features approximately 450 presentations covering a wide range of topics, organized over three full days. Please note that this is the final version of the schedule, and, as a general rule, we are unable to accommodate requests for changes at this stage.
